Angel Kershaw was born in the North of England but grew up in Kwazulu Natal, South Africa.

There she was privileged to have several close encounters with the region’s magnificent wildlife – from Lions, Giraffes, Cheetahs and Rhinoceri to the Vervet Monkeys that came into her garden, and who waited impatiently while she laid out fruit for them.

When she returned to the UK she lived in the countryside of Cumbria and enjoyed seeing British wildlife in its natural habitat. She often walked across the fields and spent hours watching Rabbits, Hares, and other creatures.

Angel had always wanted to be an artist – as a small child, her creativity was much noted and commented on. Unfortunately, during her school days, and as a young adult, her creativity wasn’t encouraged and life got in the way of her ambitions regarding a creative career.

Angel is a member of the Association of Animal Artists and now creates mainly pastel and mixed media works for individual commissions, exhibitions, and sales via her website, and as fundraisers for various wildlife charities. She also produces limited-edition prints of some of her work.

Angel has taken part in several community and group projects, as well as several exhibitions including:
